Reading
I am on a staunch reading hiatus at the minute. Overwhelmed by choice to the point of paralysis. I did buy a pretty edition of Alice in Wonderland in a charity shop this week however, so there’s a book related success story in there nonetheless.
Eating
I made a really lovely dinner for myself one evening; piggybacking off a recent craving for a caesar salad. I veganified a recipe I found online and used vegan parmesan, chickpeas, tempeh, croutons, iceberg lettuce (the best lettuce) and fashioned myself a dressing using the eyeball method and lots of capers. Delish!
Playing
I indulged in a few hours of Ologies by Alie Ward again this week, specifically the episode titled: Araneology with Marshal Hedin. An arachnophobes nightmare yet a superbly interesting discussion that helped to rid some of that unnecessary spider-phobia I have held onto since childhood. I started listening to the episode one evening whilst winding down for the night and a true testament to the intrigue it offered was that I kept myself up until I finished the whole episode. 10/10 🕷
Obsessing
This week’s obsession is in the form of a collage/mood board that I put together for a sewing project that I ended up enjoying more than the project itself:
Recommending
My recommendation for this week is 🥁 drum roll 🥁 mood boards. No surprise there. I had an itch to do some sewing but wasn’t sure what I wanted to make more so took to substack and pinterest to gather some inspiration and settled on a tote bag of sorts and by mood boarding together some ideas I narrowed down the style, fabrics and customisation points I wanted to include - heavy on the bows. Who doesn’t love a bit of brainstorming and seeing a cultivation of such thoughts.
Trying
I have already slightly fallen back on last week’s ‘trying’ declaration due to lack of prioritised time but I reiterate my initially made statement and vow to infuse more creativity into my reports going forward.
